The Crow & Gate Pub is located mid Vancouver Island at scenic Yellow Point, near Cedar and within easy access of both Airport, Seaplane, and Ferry Terminals in Nanaimo.

The Crow & Gate Pub replicates an authentic English Pub – exactly what you would find if you were visiting some of the charming English countryside pubs. A welcoming “watering hole” for the weary traveller, a quiet and romantic spot for an intimate dinner, and a great venue to get together with friends to enjoy good company and fine fare for lunch or dinner.

From the moment you arrive at “The Crow” you will be transported back through time to a more leisurely way of life.

The entrance walkway is a profusion of fragrant blooms cascading over the trellis in summer. A place to stop and “smell the roses.”

Enter through the small vestibule and you are suddenly in an Elizabethan Pub – pegged beam and plaster construction, exposed beams, hardwood floors, 2 large stonework open fireplaces, heavy wooden trestle tables with comfortable seating and, coupled with a superb collection of authentic pub memorabilia from England – you are set for a unique experience whether you visit for lunch or dinner or simply pop by for a traditional pint.

And, of course, The Elizabethans were renowned for their splendid gardens. The Crow & Gate will not disappoint having incorporated magnificent plantings for customers to enjoy while visiting. And in summer you can dine in the gardens and enjoy our beautiful British Columbia weather amongst the fragrant flowers.

Wintertime at the Pub provides you with the warmth of 2 huge open fireplaces where you can relax comfortably and enjoy the ambiance of real heat from flickering flames and crackling logs. The Pub is tastefully decorated during December which makes it an ideal venue for meeting up with friends or work colleagues to celebrate the festive season.

Enjoy a traditional British pint – on draft, or select one of our many Canadian brews. Perhaps enjoy a fine wine with your meal. Our friendly, knowledgeable staff will be delighted to offer you assistance in selecting a wine to compliment your menu choice.

And, of course, the Bar is stocked with a full range of spirits and liqueurs as well as some very fine Scotch whiskies.

The Crow & Gate menu is extensive, and all meals are freshly prepared and cooked when ordered.

The Pub is open every day – except for Christmas Day – from 11.00a.m. till Midnight - and, if you are dining, the kitchen is closed at 10.00p.m. We do not take reservations and operate on a “first come, first served” basis.

The unique ambience of the Pub is one of relaxation, incorporating appropriate, soft, background music – no TVs or game machines to interfere with good company and good conversation.

However, you might like to indulge in some traditional Pub activities such as darts, cribbage or even bridge. And there is a piano for those of you who enjoy “tinkling the ivories.”

We also provide entertainment throughout the year, including Rabbie Burns Night and St. Patrick’s Day Celebrations.  Always very popular events.
